Equal fairness
In all cases, the man does not have to be forbidden from marrying the second, third and fourth time, but he must be fair between them, which is a difficult and not easy matter. The evidence that God’s law for men is polygamy is His saying In Surah An-Nisa,the Most High:
(وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تُقْسِطُوا فِي الْيَتَامَى فَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَى وَثُلَاثَ وَرُبَاعَ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا فَوَاحِدَةً أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ ذَلِكَ أَدْنَى أَلَّا تَعُولُوا)
If you fear that you might not treat the orphans justly, then marry the women that seem good to you: two, or three, or four. If you fear that you will not be able to treat them justly, then marry (only) one, or marry from among those whom your right hands possess. This will make it more likely that you will avoid injustice.
Financial and physical ability
One of the important rules of second marriage in Islam is that the man should have the physical ability to marry another woman, as well as the financial ability to spend on them in the same way.

Is the consent of the first wife a condition?
Islam did not make the knowing of the first wife rule of the validity of the second marriage. But we recommend the husband to tell his first wife of his second marriage, as he does not do anything forbidden, but rather it is a valid marriage.
He also tells the second wife of his marriage before that and says his marital status in the marriage contract. If the wife is hurt, she has the right to ask her husband for a divorce, unless she has expressly consented to that.

This issue differs to the extent that it has become an obsession for many, especially women, and this is what prompted Arab countries to differ in their views of rules of second marriage in Islam , according to influence of feminist movements, which makes us ask how different Arab legislations view the right of polygamy.
In Egypt
The new rules of second marriage in Islam has also obligated the husband to acknowledge in the marriage document his marital status, to make clear the names of his wives and where they live, and someone must notify them of this marriage.
The new law allows the wife to demand a divorce from her husband, who married her, within a year from the time of her knowing of the marriage to another woman.

Can a person be happy in their second marriage?
